| Padstow | 10 mins | Padstow is a charming working fishing port surrounded by glorious sandy beaches, at the head of the Camel River. Watching the everyday ebb and flow of harbour life is a perfect way to spend a day. This foodie destination with popular eateries such as Rick Stein’s Seafood Restaurant, is the start and end point for the Camel Cycle Trail and a good base for water sports. |
| Trevibban Mill & Vineyard | 5 mins | Tucked away down a charming Cornish lane, Trevibban Mill is a working vineyard and winery just outside Padstow. Visit the vineyard for a guided tour and wine tasting or simply for outstanding food and drink. |
| Camel Trail | 10 mins | The 18-mile Camel Trail links Padstow, Wadebridge, Wenfordbridge and Bodmin via a largely traffic-free route that follows an old railway track alongside the river Camel. Great for cycling, walking and nature watching for all the family. Set off from the cycle hire shop in Wadebridge. |
| Trevone Bay | 16 mins | This gently shelving sandy beach has golden sand and little alcoves to sit and watch away the day. The cliffs to the north east of the beach provide fantastic walks and views to Hawkers Cove, the Camel Estuary and beyond. |
| Harlyn Bay | 16 mins | Considered one of the best family beaches in Cornwall, Harlyn Bay is a wide and spacious beach of yellow sand and pebbles with plenty of interesting rock pools backed by dunes and situated on the eastern side of Trevose Head, just west of Padstow. |
| Constantine Bay | 20 mins | With a reputation as one of the best surfing beaches in Cornwall , Constantine Bay beach offers a sweeping arc of gently shelving soft pale sands. This west-facing beach also has numerous rock pools to explore and is very popular for swimming and surfing. |
| Bedruthen Steps | 20 mins | A few miles east of Watergate Bay are the stately rock stack towers of Bedruthan Steps, a haven for sea birds and an irresistible challenge for the county’s rock climbers. The beach is only accessible at low tide. Bedruthan is always a spectacular spot for a clifftop stroll, and there’s a National Trust car park and small café where you can seek shelter when the Atlantic wind gets up. |
